Negotiation Workshop at Allen&Overy
Our members recently had an eye-opening negotiation training given by Dirk Meeus, Managing Partner of Allen & Overy Belgium and Co-Head of the Global Corporate practice, followed by a walking dinner.
Fahad, a law student at Saint- Louis and member of MSB, shares his experience:
“The workshop was organized by lawyers from the M&A department. We started with a presentation on negotiation theory, where we tackled the negotiation principles to obtain a win-win deal. Afterwards, we were given a case study. Each team had to negotiate on behalf of their client to obtain the best possible deal.
I took home with me some precious lessons from this workshop, such as the satisfaction to have a deal after a long discussion, the importance of building personal relations with the other side and the difficulty of not to fall in the trap of positional bargaining.”
